A fugue is a contrapuntal musical form in which a single theme is repeated and developed across multiple voices. The subject is first introduced, followed by the answer, where another voice imitates the theme. In the episode, the theme is varied and developed freely. The fugue is characterized by a polyphonic structure, with multiple voices independently handling the theme.

The piece begins with the Exposition in measures 1-12, where the subject is introduced. The First Episode starts at measure 13, followed by the Re-exposition at measure 47 and the Second Episode at measure 55. Finally, a Coda, based on the subject material, appears at measure 80.

This fugue returns the cycle to C Major, where it all began.
